Staff Correspondent:Serious allegations have been raised against Md. Shahriar Ashraf, Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Kotwali Revenue Circle in the capital, and several officials of his office for allegedly ignoring court orders, delaying mutation (land transfer) applications, and engaging in administrative misconduct.According to complaints from service seekers, despite clear court directives and the submission of all required requisitions related to mutation cases, the concerned officials have failed to process applications in accordance with the law. They also alleged that applicants are frequently subjected to rude behavior and unnecessary delays, causing prolonged harassment and mental distress.The allegations further claim that a group of controversial surveyors and kanungos within the office have kept thousands of mutation files pending for months. Complainants suspect that these delays may be linked to financial irregularities or other unethical motives.Affected citizens say the continued disregard for legal procedures and prolonged file backlogs are undermining public confidence in government services and damaging the image of the administration.They also alleged that despite media reports highlighting the alleged irregularities, the responsible authorities have yet to take any effective action.Sources said that representatives of the affected applicants are preparing to submit a formal written complaint, along with supporting documents, to the Dhaka Deputy Commissioner and the Ministry of Land. They are also expected to demand the formation of a departmental investigation committee to examine the allegations and ensure the swift disposal of the pending mutation files.The allegations mentioned in this report reflect the claims of the complainants.
